Plan on coming if you need the hours, want to expand your adoption knowledge, network with other adoptive and hopeful couples or just want to hang out with really awesome and cool people. This will likely be one of the last local trainings for this year- there will be the Regional Conference in Federal Way, WA November 5th and 6th (see prior post!).

Oregon required topic: Issues related to race, culture, and identity, acculturation, and assimilation (Lyn Whelchel, adoptive parent)
Oregon required topic: What research indicates about the potential effect on a child’s development of physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, institutionalization, and multiple caregivers
Oregon required topic: Emotional adjustment of adopted children and their families, including attachment and psychological issues of children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma
Coping with Infertility (Joe Daines, LDSFS caseworker)
Using the Internet to Grow Your Family (Michelle Coxey, adoptive parent)
